A Redesign From An Ancient Blueprint

On March 19, 2008, leaders in true Christian education from across the nation joined to develop the broad concepts of operation and curriculum for our school’s launch the coming fall. The fundamental question was asked, “How can we create and restore a practical Biblical and Spirit of Prophecy school in view of modern financial challenges and more importantly, the opportunity God has provided through the combined efforts of Amazing Facts and Weimar Center?”

Ellen White wrote that the “youth are to be encouraged to attend our schools, which should become more and more like the schools of the prophets” (FE 489). The current world chaos speaks clearly of the urgent need for Gospel medical-missionary ambassadors who can lead others to be a part of the remnant of Revelation 12:17.

Dr. Neil Nedley, Weimar Center President, shared his inspiring 5-year vision, including plans to expand NEWSTART® and develop a lifestyle-based cancer treatment center. The vision emphasized the need to train pastors, physicians, nurses and other health professionals in soul-winning.

The following mission statement was adopted: “The purpose of Weimar College is to offer Adventist evangelistic education that is spiritually, practically and academically excellent.”

The curriculum was organized into the “Core of Four.”

  • Evangelism through an ongoing synergistic relationship with Amazing Facts and an evangelism-integrated curriculum.
  • Education through a rigorous academic program that helps lead to a knowledge of God
  • Industry through staff and students working together in practical, physical labor.
  • Health through integration with NEWSTART® and other practical health programs.

{title}With new vigor and this fresh approach to meeting its educational goals, Weimar College will fulfill a vital role in the spreading of God’s end-time message to the world.

Weimar College first opened September 25, 1978, to bring together into one curriculum the vital elements of study, useful work and practical Christian witness. Faculty were chosen for their deep commitment to the philosophy and programs developed at Weimar as well their academic qualifications. Students came, first a trickle, then an increasing number for around the world. Over the years, Weimar College alumni have gone on to fill positions of trust in God’s work, bringing Gospel truth to the unreached. They are accomplishing their appointed tasks – bringing glory to God and finishing His work on this earth.
