Media Ministry Internship
When it comes to media missionary work, there is no better way to learn than by doing. That’s why Weimar College is offering you the opportunity to work and learn in the Weimar Media Center. You’ll be part of a TV production environment using professional broadcast studio and field equipment.
The Media Ministry Internship is an 11-month certificate program that’s both practical and educational. It will prepare you to lead a church-based media team or outreach project and enable you to produce attractive, high-quality media productions that communicate God’s Word effectively to people. Through assigned readings, studying numerous videos, and the completion of a series of video projects at each level, you will acquire a thorough understanding of the basic elements of video production.
You will experience three different levels of training that progress at your own pace. Your program level determines the benefits you receive while participating in the Media Ministry Internship.
Level 1 – Introductory Training (Approximately 3 months)
- Introduction to TV production
- Graphic design and photography
- Presentation skills – conducting effective screen-based presentations.
- Studio-type camera work
- Benefits- Room Provided
Level 2 – General Training (Approximately 4 months)
- Basic video editing
- Audio – audio board and mic setup, including the handling of common audio problems
- Content delivery – TV, Web & DVD
- Subtitling and Closed Captioning
- Benefits- Room and board provided
Level 3 – Advanced Training (Approximately 4 months)
- Camera – in the field and documentary shooting
- Advanced video editing
- Elements of effective visual composition and motion
- Lighting – setting up lights effectively
- Specialty training based on proficiency in specific areas
- Benefits- Room and board plus a bi-weekly credit of $50 at the Weimar Store
Who Should Apply
Applicants who have successfully completed the four-month AFCOE program or other similar course, such as Souls West, Arise or Mission College of Evangelism, will be given first priority. Applicants should have competence in the use of computers. It would be a plus for students to have experience in media, a media-related education, or musical talents.
