University Chemistry Faculty

I originally hail from Karateng, a small village about 15 miles Northwest of the vibrant city of Kisumu, the third largest in Kenya. It is here that my academic journey began having completed a Bachelor of Science degree at Maseno University, a public institution located within the same village. I completed a Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences degree at Nagasaki University in Japan and hold a PhD degree in chemistry from the University of Auckland in New Zealand. I also have two years of Postdoctoral research experience at the University and have made valuable contributions in my area of research through publications in peer reviewed journals.

I am a passionate teacher with long-term experience at both secondary and post-secondary levels of education, spanning a period of twelve years. Before coming to Weimar with my wife and daughter, I was a Research Fellow at the University of Auckland and had earlier served in the capacity of a Lecturer at Pwani University, one of the public universities in Kenya, for eight years. Beyond the academics, I have a strong passion for the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist church and possess extensive experience as an evangelist at home and abroad. My wife, daughter, and I are privileged to be part of the community at Weimar andlook forward to taking part in the University’s Christ-centered mission to local and global communities. I now embark on a transformative chapter as a member of faculty at Weimar University and endeavor to push boundaries in imparting knowledge and collaborating with fellow experts to drive innovative education and research initiatives to heal a hurting world.
