The widow’s mite is blessing Weimar Institute. In December of 2016, the Institute received a donation of a nickel, taped to a donation card, and mailed in response to the year-end fundraising campaign.
For six months in a row now, the Institute has received a nickel from Diane. In April, she mailed a quarter. After research from the advancement office, they discovered that Diane has been a widow for the past 25 years…living on a small fixed income from her 24 years as a press operator at a factory in Wisconsin.
She discovered Weimar Institute from the miracle stories she had seen on 3ABN where some of the NEWSTART guests had been interviewed.
President Neil Nedley MD said the lesson of the Widow’s mite where Jesus is teaching at the Temple in Jerusalem is applicable even today. “It is especially important to Weimar Institute where we receive no government or church subsidiary but operate entirely on donations from the widows, the businessman, the friends and neighbors who appreciate our distinctively Seventh-day Adventist and Spirit of Prophecy approach,” he stated.
“We believe that Weimar Institute is truly a place of physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. A place where we are modeling the love of Christ to heal a hurting world,” continued Dr. Nedley.
Dr. Nedley shared a passage from the Bible in Mark 12:43, 44 NIV that said, “Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”
